Flooding has closed part of freeway, left hundreds without power in Ozaukee County - 01
Water covers the northbound lanes of the freeway just north of Pioneer Road in Ozaukee County, leading to its closure between Pioneer Road and Highway 60.

CEDARBURG — Ozaukee County has likely seen less of an impact from the flooding as other area counties, though residents have not been spared completely.

Interstate 43 northbound is closed from Pioneer Road to Highway 60. The southbound freeway is down to one lane in that same stretch.

The southbound exit ramp to Grafton is closed. The south ramp to Mequon Road was also closed but is now open.

Other roads have been impacted as well, including Port Washington Road near Pioneer, which is closed. Much of the county is under a flood warning.

There were 883 We Energies power outages as of about 1 p.m., with the bulk of those — 722 – in Mequon.

Many fire departments in Ozaukee County are in Milwaukee County assisting with calls. Ozaukee Central Fire Chief Bill Rice took part in a MABAS Task Force, helping to answer calls around Milwaukee starting around 2:30 a.m.
