CEDARBURG — A George Webb spokesman said the restaurant chain will announce later today when the free burger giveaway will take place after the Milwaukee Brewers clinched a 12-game winning streak Wednesday, triggering the restaurant’s longstanding tradition of giving away one burger per person when the Brewers hit 12 in a row.
It is not 100% certain, however, if the Cedarburg restaurant at W63N151 Washington Ave. will participate. The location is closed on Tuesdays and open the other six days from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A spokesman said he is assuming that the Cedarburg location will be included.
The Brewers beat the Pittsburg Pirates 12 to 5 Wednesday to clinch the win.
The last time the Brewers won 12 straight games was in 2018. At that time, the owner of the Cedarburg George Webb location said she was preparing to give away 2,000 burgers in four hours.
The Cedarburg store is the only George Webb location in Ozaukee County.
